Preparing Your Dog for a Stay at Country Kennels
Before your dog's stay at Country Kennels, it's important to make sure they are prepared and comfortable. Here are some tips to help you and your loyal companion get ready:
Health Check - Bring your Vaccination Passport: Ensure your dog is up-to-date with vaccinations and flea/tick treatments. All dogs need to be vaccinated at least 10 days before checking in, and within the last 12 months). This is to protect all other guests.
Food: We also encourage you to bring your dog’s own food as they are often happier with the food they are used to. However if you prefer, we will supply their daily meals.
Special Dietary Needs: Inform Country Kennels about your dog's dietary requirements, including feeding schedules and any allergies.
Packing Essentials: Pack your dog's bedding, and/or a familiar blanket or clothing with your scent to provide comfort during their stay.
Medications: If your dog requires medication, provide clear instructions and enough medication for the duration of their stay.
Exercise Routine: Describe your dog's exercise routine to the carers so they can provide a similar level of activity during their stay.
Behavioral Information: Inform the carers about your dog's behavior, including any fears, anxieties, or habits they should be aware of.
In Season: Dogs in season or due to come into season cannot be accommodated.
Emergency Contacts: Provide contact information for yourself and a local emergency contact in case of any issues.
Trial Stay: If possible, arrange a short trial stay at Country Kennels before a longer stay to help your dog acclimate to the environment.
Pick-Up Plan: Discuss the pick-up arrangements with Country Kennels to ensure a smooth transition back home. If you are able to pick up your dog before 10am we will not charge for that day, just like motels.
By preparing your dog and communicating effectively with Country Kennels, you can help ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay for your loyal companion.
